THE PEOPLE GOT IT RIGHT

WE need to take some time, now in 2006, (1000 days since invasion) and remember the struggles of 2003, when millions of people world wide protested against the proposed illegal invasion of a sovereign state.
This was an unprecedented event. Like these women at Byron Bay, NSW, on 8th Feb 2003, millions of people world wide did not want their children to have a legacy of such a tragic war. It now has turned out much worse than we feared it might. With over 100, thousand Iraqi dead, countless wounded and over 2000 US deaths, unkown wounded, we are staring US Empire ambitions in the face.
The US is borrrowing $2 billion dollars a day (sic) (much of it from China) to finance this war.
One (early) aim of the invasion was to bring democracy to Iraq. You cannot impose democracy at the point of a gun. And what about OUR democracy? The free world overwhelmingly opposed the US proposed action. We were laying candles in the rain. We knew we were right, and history has shown this to be so.
It is important now to remember our struggle, our hopes and desires for reason, diplomancy and peace to prevail. We need to cherish our ideals, and know in the end, we will prevail.
This site will help you recall our valiant struggle. For more, accurate information, see my recommended blogs, and web pages.
